Vision:

The Egyptian Chinese University aspires to be a regional centre for sustainable development and environmental conservation by rationalizing resource use, increasing reliance on new and renewable energy, and implementing sustainable consumption and production patterns in order to be ranked among top universities.

Mission:

The SDIRO aims to engage all stakeholders, deploy resources, and build cadres to promote sustainable trends at the institution as part of Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Plan. The SDIRO also attempts to attain excellence for the institution by raising its ranking in worldwide university classifications based on scientific criteria, fulfilling sustainable development goals, and expanding international and local collaborations.

Objectives:

• Spread environmental awareness and maintain the green spaces between the university buildings.
• Help to improve access to a sustainable, healthy environment on the university campus.
• Highlight the university’s efforts to achieve the international goals of sustainable development.
• Promote scientific research and initiatives relevant to sustainable development, as well as encouraging students and university members to engage in sustainable development activities.
• Provide the university with clean and more sustainable energy sources, seek to make university buildings ecologically friendly, and encourage students to adopt environmentally friendly modes of transportation.
• Activate the university’s participation in several international organizations and participate in worldwide rankings.
