2- Welcome Ceremony for New Students at the Faculty of Mass Communication
The Faculty of Mass Communication organized a welcoming ceremony for its new students for the new academic year, in an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and a sense of belonging, reflecting the spirit of welcoming students and the start of a promising academic year.
The ceremony was organized as part of the Faculty’s commitment to strengthening communication between students and faculty members, and to familiarizing new students with the study system and various academic and student activities.
During the event, the Faculty administration welcomed the new students, wishing them a university journey filled with success, creativity, and excellence, and expressing its confidence that they will be a valuable addition to the Faculty’s mission of preparing media professionals capable of competing in the job market. The ceremony was also attended by artist Mohamed Gomaa, artist Mohamed Khamis, and media professional Dr. Mohamed Al-Rumaihi, a presenter on Extra News Channel, who shared in the students’ joy at the beginning of the new academic year, emphasizing the importance of combining academic study with practical experience in the field of media.


3- Students’ Participation in the Military Culture Exhibition
As part of the university’s support for student activities and encouraging students to represent it in various activities, students participated in the 13th Military Culture Exhibition held at Panorama October… (in celebration of the glorious October War anniversary).


4- Students’ Participation in the “Stand With Us” Seminar under the Slogan “Enlightened Awareness for Sustainable Victory”
The students participated in the “Stand With Us” seminar, which was held under the slogan “Enlightened Awareness for Sustainable Victory,” and was organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports with the aim of raising awareness among university students, in implementation of the directives of Mr. President of the Republic regarding the importance of confronting rumors and their impact on national security. It took place at the Innovation and Civic Education Center in Al-Jazira, affiliated with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

5- Second-Level Students’ Visit to Akhbar Al-Youm Foundation
Dr. Mai Mahmoud, Head of the Print Journalism Department, organized a visit for second-year students to the headquarters of Dar Akhbar Al-Youm Foundation, accompanied by a group of the faculty students. This visit was part of the faculty’s commitment to developing its students’ skills and providing them with practical, field-based experience from within leading press and media institutions.

1- A Workshop Entitled “Journalistic Work Duties”
The Faculty of Mass Communication at the Egyptian-Chinese University hosted Dr. Mohamed El-Baz, Chairman of the Board and Editor-in-Chief of Al-Dostour newspaper and presenter of the radio program “Mesh Hesbet Berma” on Nogoum FM, as part of the “Introduction to Journalism and Digital Publishing” course. During the meeting, Dr. El-Baz reviewed his rich media career, which included presenting distinguished programs such as “Akher El-Nahar,” “Bab Allah,” and “90 Minutes,” in addition to his academic experience as a professor at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University. He discussed the fundamentals of journalistic work and mechanisms for developing professional performance to keep pace with the developments in digital media.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Sarah El-Maghraby, Acting Dean of the Faculty, emphasized the Faculty of Mass Communication’s commitment to linking academic study with practical application and developing its students’ field skills. She praised Dr. El-Baz’s participation and his contribution to enriching the students’ experiences. She also honored him in recognition of his media career and his outstanding contributions to supporting the educational process.

2- A Workshop Entitled “The Advertising Industry in Egypt and the Arab World”
The Faculty of Mass Communication at the Egyptian-Chinese University hosted advertising expert and academic Dr. Galal Zaki as part of the “Introduction to Advertising and Digital Marketing” course. The aim was to develop students’ skills and bridge the gap between academic study and practical application. During the meeting, Dr. Zaki discussed the evolution of the advertising industry in Egypt and the Arab world, highlighting the challenges of digital transformation and emphasizing the importance of integrating creative thinking with modern technologies in advertising.
Associate Professor Dr. Sarah El-Maghraby, Dean of the Faculty, affirmed that the meeting was part of the Faculty’s plan to host experts and specialists to support students’ practical training. At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Galal Zaki was honored in recognition of his professional career and contributions to the field of advertising and marketing.

3- A Workshop Entitled “Television News Presentation”
The faculty organized a workshop entitled “Television News Presentation”, hosting journalist Dalia Abu Emera, a news anchor on Cairo News Channel. This workshop was part of a program to train second-year students on news broadcasting and television presentation skills.
During the workshop, Ms. Abu Emera reviewed the essential qualities of a successful broadcaster and provided practical training for students on delivery skills, pronunciation, and on-camera interaction. Dr. Sarah El-Maghraby, Acting Dean of the Faculty, emphasized that the workshop is part of the Faculty’s plan to prepare and qualify students for the media job market. At the conclusion of the event, Ms. Abu Emera was honored in recognition of her contribution to enriching media training at the faculty.

4- First Scientific Seminar at the Faculty of Mass Communication: “Modern Trends in Media Research”
In its commitment to supporting and developing the skills of its Faculty and staff, and enhancing their research capabilities to achieve academic excellence and improve the quality of academic theses, the Faculty organized its first scientific seminar entitled “Modern Trends in Media Research”.
The seminar was presented by Dr. Mona El-Sawah, Professor of Digital Media Governance and Director of the Digital Majority Research Centre at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom. Dr. El-Sawah holds several prestigious academic positions, most notably: Professor of Political Communication at the University of Oxford, Co-Chair of the Global Majority Research Committee (GMRC), Research Associate at the Oxford Internet Institute, and a member of the Carr Center at Harvard University. The organization of this seminar reflects the Faculty’s ongoing efforts to foster international academic collaboration and keep up with the latest research trends in the fields of media and communication studies.

5- A Workshop on “Program Specification”
The Faculty of Mass Communication organized a workshop entitled “Program Specification” presented by Dr. Mostafa Abd El-Khaleq, a quality expert at the university. This workshop was part of collaborative efforts to enhance the quality of academic programs and learning outcomes.
Held online with faculty participation, the workshop aimed to introduce participants to the concept of program specification and its importance in ensuring quality and process integrity, in addition to discussing the mechanisms of preparing and updating course specifications according to the approved academic standards.
The workshop was well-received by attendees, who appreciated the valuable information and practical examples it provided for improving the faculty’s performance and academic programs.
6- A Workshop Entitled “The Art of Dubbing”
On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the Faculty of Mass Communication hosted media personality Asmaa Samir as part of the “Introduction to Audio-Visual Production” course. The workshop aimed to train students on dubbing and voice-over skills, enhancing their on-air performance abilities.
Asmaa Samir is a distinguished media professional, currently a presenter on the Egyptian Radio’s cultural program and a director at Disney Channel. She possesses extensive experience in both radio and television broadcasting.
This event reflects the faculty’s commitment to developing its students’ practical skills and preparing them for the job market through hands-on training and interaction with media experts.

Awareness Activities

1- Awareness Day: Quality Culture and Study Paths
The Faculty of Media at the Egyptian Chinese University organized an awareness day for first- and second-year students, under the patronage of the Acting Dean of the Faculty, Assistant Professor Dr. Sara Al-Maghraby, aiming to raise academic and professional awareness among students and introduce them to their study paths within the faculty. The activities began with a lecture by Dr. Zainab Qutb – lecturer in the Department of Integrated Marketing Communications – about the University Student Charter, during which she discussed how students can develop themselves, respect campus rules, and understand their rights and duties. The lecture included an open discussion with students about communication channels and support mechanisms within the faculty.
Then, Dr. Ahmed Ghobashy, Professor of Modern and Contemporary History, gave an extensive presentation on the culture of quality and objective evaluation, during which he addressed the role of the Quality Assurance Unit, as well as the vision and mission of the faculty. The day concluded with introductory presentations about the tracks and programs of the faculty’s three departments, delivered by several members of the supporting staff in the three departments:
🔸 Department of Digital Journalism and Graphic Design – included an overview of television journalism tracks and graphic design writing skills.
🔸 Department of Integrated Marketing Communications – covered digital marketing and brand building.
🔸 Department of Audio-Visual Production – addressed the department’s role in preparing graduates capable of keeping up with technological developments.
This day reflects the College of Media’s keenness to support its students and provide them with a clear understanding of their rights, paths, and opportunities within the college, qualifying them for the rapidly evolving modern media market.

1- Workshop Titled “Academic Quality Standards”
Within the directives of the President of the Egyptian Chinese University, Prof. Dr. Rasha El-Khouly, to develop the capabilities of faculty members and the supporting staff, the Faculty of Mass Communication organized a workshop on academic quality standards, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Sara El-Maghraby, Dean of the Faculty, emphasizing the importance of commitment to the quality of education.
The workshop was presented by Prof. Dr. Mostafa Abdelkhaleq, supervisor of the Quality Assurance Center at the university, where he reviewed the latest standards and approved methods for applying quality systems in university education, stressing their role in achieving continuous development and advancing the educational process. He also addressed the most prominent modern quality methods followed in higher education institutions, explaining the mechanisms for their application within the faculty with the aim of enhancing academic excellence. The event witnessed active participation from faculty members and supporting staff, who provided rich discussions on ways to improve academic performance.

2- Workshop Titled “The Art of Press Cartooning”
As part of developing the skills of the students of the Faculty of Media at the Egypt-China University, cartoonist Hani Shams presented a workshop titled “The Evolution of Cartoon Art Between Print Newspapers and Digital Platforms.” The workshop addressed the history of cartoons and their transformations after the 1952 revolution, as well as their role in social and political criticism. Shams showcased examples of works by prominent cartoonists and explained the standards of journalistic cartoons. He also reviewed the latest digital technologies and artificial intelligence in cartoon production, providing students the opportunity to display their works.
The workshop was held under the patronage of Associate Professor Dr. Sara Al-Maghrabi, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Media, and supervised by Associate Professor Dr. Mai Mahmoud, Head of the Department of Digital Journalism and Graphic Design at the faculty. At the conclusion of the workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Sara Al-Maghrabi honored artist Hani Shams by presenting the faculty shield.

1- Visit of First-Year Students to Akhbar Al-Youm Institution
The Faculty of Media at the Egyptian Chinese University organized a field visit for first-year students to the Akhbar Al-Youm Institution, aiming to provide them with practical experience about the journalistic work environment and the content production process. The program began inside the Ahmed Ragab Hall with an introductory speech about the institution’s history and its role in the Egyptian journalism industry. Then, the students toured the institution’s library and photo archive, followed by a visit to the news hall and the portal to directly observe the stages of editing and digital preparation.
The visit also included an extensive tour inside the Akhbar Al-Youm printing presses in 6th of October City, where the students watched the various printing stages starting from plate preparation and machine operation to the final output of the newspaper. Additionally, they learned about commercial printing lines. The students expressed their great benefit from the visit, affirming that it contributed to enhancing their practical skills and linking the academic content they receive with real-world application inside one of the most prestigious journalistic institutions in Egypt.

2- Visit of Media College Students to the Grand Egyptian Museum
The students of the Media College visited the Grand Egyptian Museum, where they toured its halls and learned about the most prominent artifacts that embody Egypt’s history and ancient civilization. This visit aims to enhance the students’ cultural awareness and connect academic aspects with field experiences, in addition to developing their skills in media coverage by professionally observing and documenting the visit’s activities.

3- Visit of Media College Students to the Arms Exhibition
The students of the Media College visited the arms exhibition, where they learned about the latest military technologies and equipment. The visit was part of enhancing the awareness and knowledge of the students. The arms exhibition is considered one of the most important international events held in Egypt with the participation of a large number of countries, where the latest military equipment and technologies are displayed. The exhibition aims to exchange expertise and learn about global developments in the fields of armament and defense.

4- Seminar on “Analyzing the Political Scene”
The Faculty of Media at the Egyptian Chinese University hosted, under the patronage of Professor Dr. Rasha El-Khouly, the University President, and Professor Dr. Sara El-Maghraby, the Dean of the Faculty, the prominent journalist Dr. Rifaat Fayyad, Editor-in-Chief of Akhbar Al-Youm newspaper and specialist in educational affairs, in an extensive seminar that addressed the analysis of the political scene and the role of media in interpreting internal and external situations.
The seminar began with a welcoming speech from the Dean of the Faculty, followed by a presentation by Dr. Rifaat Fayyad, during which he emphasized the importance of the media’s role in serving society and the necessity of relying on credible sources in conveying information. He also provided an explanation of the fundamentals of news production and the mechanisms for analyzing the political scene. At the conclusion of the event, the Dean of the Faculty honored the guest and presented him with the university shield in appreciation of his participation, and commemorative photos were taken with the students to document this distinguished student activity.


5- Field Visit to Mohamed Naguib Military Base
The Ministry of Youth and Sports, in cooperation with the Popular and Military Defense Forces, organized a field visit for students of the Egyptian Chinese University to the Mohamed Naguib Military Base in El Hamam city, Marsa Matrouh Governorate, as part of university activity programs aimed at enhancing belonging and pride in national identity. The visit included 50 male and female students from various university faculties.
The activities included a presentation during which the students learned about the establishment of the base, its facilities, and the training and shooting fields. The students also toured the various facilities, which include a multipurpose conference hall, a theater equipped with the latest technologies, a museum dedicated to the late President Mohamed Naguib, in addition to the sports village that includes indoor halls, the Olympic stadium, and several diverse playgrounds. The students inspected the sports center and tactical training fields, and the visit concluded with a tour of the shooting ranges.
At the end of the visit, the students expressed their appreciation for the role of the armed forces and their pride in what they witnessed of readiness and organization, affirming their desire to repeat such activities that enhance the spirit of belonging and national awareness.


6- Seminar on the Role of the Grand Egyptian Museum in Consolidating National Identity
The Faculty of Media at the Egyptian Chinese University, in cooperation with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and under the patronage of Dr. Rasha El-Khouly, President of the University, Dr. Haitham Amer, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and Dr. Sara El-Maghraby, Dean of the Faculty of Media, organized a seminar entitled “The Role of the Grand Egyptian Museum in Consolidating National Identity and Preserving Civilizational Heritage.”
The seminar was opened with a speech by Dr. Haitham Amer, in which he emphasized the importance of raising awareness about Egyptian heritage, followed by a speech by Dr. Sara El-Maghraby, who praised the cooperation between the two faculties and the role of media in enhancing identity. Dr. Ahmed Ghobashi, Professor of Modern and Contemporary History, delivered an important lecture on the historical development of archaeological discoveries in Egypt and the importance of the museum in preserving heritage and highlighting Egypt’s civilizational depth. Tour guide Amina El-Minyawi presented a documentary presentation about the Grand Egyptian Museum and the role of media in supporting national belonging. The seminar concluded with an open discussion between students and lecturers about the role of media in supporting national identity and raising awareness of Egypt’s history.

The Egyptian Chinese University handball team (female students) achieved an honorable accomplishment by winning first place and the gold medal in the Egyptian Universities and Institutes Championship as part of the 53rd Martyr Al-Rifai Tournament, officially advancing to Level A and continuing its distinguished journey in university competitions.

1- First-Year Students’ Visit to Akhbar El-Yom Foundation
The Faculty of Media organized a field visit for first-year students to Akhbar El-Yom’s Foundation, such a visit reflects the faculty’s commitment towards linking theoretical knowledge with practical experience. During this visit, students gained insightful knowledge concerning the formation’s process of a news story—from its discovery as an idea to its final composition.
The visit began with an introductory talk related to the history of Akhbar El-Yom’s Foundation, taking place in the hall of “Great Writer Ahmed Ragab”, where students explored the foundation’s origins and its pioneering role in Egyptian journalism. The tour also included a visit to the foundation’s library as well as its photo archive, followed by a visit to the news hall and the online portal to observe the stages of journalistic editing and digital preparation up close.
The visit concluded with a tour of Akhbar El-Yom’s printing presses located in 6th of October City, where students observed the various printing stages—from plate preparation and machine operation to the newspaper’s final composition—as well as the commercial printing processes. Students expressed their appreciation for taking part in such an outstanding field experience, which enriched their practical understanding and helped them connect their academic study with the professional reality at one of Egypt’s most prestigious journalistic institutions.


2- First-Year Students’ Visit to Media Production City
As part of the Faculty of Media’s efforts to enhance practical learning for students, the faculty organized a field visit to Media Production City during December. The visit included a tour of several studios belonging to satellite channels, including Cairo News Channel, Sada El-Balad Channel, and Al-Nahar Channel.
During the tour, students got in touch with the operational processes inside the television studios alongside the numerous stages of preparing programs and news bulletins—from planning and preparation, to filming and directing, reaching live broadcasting. They also had the opportunity to observe the technical and production equipment used in media work, broadening their understanding via the connection between their theoretical studies and practical application across the professional media environment.


3- Workshop for College Students at the UPSkill Center in Media Production City
As part of the Faculty of Media’s activities towards the development of its students’ practical skills, a field visit was organized to the Training and Development Center at Media Production City (Upskill), which is considered one of the specialized centers for qualifying media professionals and enhancing their professional career skills.
During the visit, students participated in a practical “Mobile Journalism” workshop, where they learned the different techniques of producing comprehensive media content depending on their mobile phones—from filming to editing, reaching the final stage of publishing. The workshop also highlighted the importance of this type of journalism in meeting the demands of the digital age, its role in reducing production costs, and its contribution to improving the quality of media content delivered to audiences via smartphones.
By the end of the visit, Dean of the Faculty of Media, Associate Professor Dr. Sara Al-Maghrabi, presented a plaque of appreciation to the Director of the UPSKILL Training Center, Dr. Amani Farouk, honoring her for her efforts and contributions in facilitating such an outstanding field visit for the students.

4- Second-Year Students’ Display of Their Wall Magazines
As part of the practical activities taking place at the Faculty of Media, second-year students displayed their wall magazines on the faculty’s wall. This activity is part of the Digital Journalism and Graphic Design course requirements, under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr. Mai Mahmoud and Teaching Assistant Nouran Ashraf.
This activity was a reflection of a high level of creativity and innovation, where students successfully transformed their ideas into vibrant visual works which mixed journalistic content with graphic design in a professional way. This activity contributed to developing students’ creative skills and enhancing their ability to express themselves visually, while supporting the practical aspects of their academic studies.

1- Attendance of Mass Communication Students for Night Life Program on Al-Nahar TV Channel
As part of the Faculty of Mass Communication’s commitment to enhancing its students’ practical skills, students participated in the filming of “Night Life” program. This initiative was part of the faculty’s plan to bridge the gap between academic study and practical application. The activity included hands-on training, giving students the opportunity to practice media tasks within a real studio environment. It also provided students with firsthand experience of behind-the-scenes production, filming techniques, directing, television dialogue management, and audience communication and interaction skills in the studio.

Within the directives of Professor Dr. Rasha El-Khouly, President of the Egyptian Chinese University, a committee was formed to evaluate the outcomes of the training program on designing and writing local and international research projects, organized by the University’s Research and Innovation Center. During the committee’s work, Dr. Rasha El-Khouly praised the level of the research ideas presented, which reflect the researchers’ awareness of the importance of innovation and digital transformation, alongside enhancing integration among various disciplines.
She also announced the launch of a multidisciplinary research project bank, which includes 17 research projects in the fields of medicine, community service, artificial intelligence, and sustainability. This step comes within the university’s strategy to support applied scientific research and contribute to achieving the targets of Egypt Vision 2030. The Faculty of Mass Communication presented the idea of establishing a unit with a special character.

1- Workshop at the National Council for Women
A training workshop held at the National Council for Women witnessed a remarkable attendance of students from the Faculty of Media at the Egypt China University. The students participated in monitoring and analyzing the media portrayal of women in Ramadan series by preparing critical reports on episodes of the series “The Other Text,” as part of a practical experience that combined media analysis with professional application. This participation represents a new step towards deeper media awareness and the creation of more responsible and impactful content.

2- Training Workshop for College Students at the United Media Academy
The video production workshop for digital platforms for the students of the Faculty of Media at the Egypt-China University was launched at the United Media Academy, aiming to develop their skills in digital storytelling from the idea stage to publication. The workshop lasted for five days, with its activities starting and concluding within the academy’s premises, while part of its activities was carried out mid-way through the workshop days inside the Faculty of Mass Communication at the Egypt-China University, as part of a practical training experience combining theoretical learning and practical application.

3- Quran Memorization Competition
Under the patronage of the leadership of the Egyptian Chinese University, the Activities Committees of the Faculties of Media and Literary Studies organized a competition in memorizing the Holy Quran. This was at two levels: memorizing the first 10 parts or memorizing the last 10 parts.

4- Cultural Trip to Historical Landmarks in Cairo
As part of the role of student activities in developing cultural awareness and enhancing national belonging among students, the university’s Youth Welfare Department, in cooperation with the Tourism Promotion Authority, organized a recreational cultural trip to the Pyramids area, Muhammad Ali Pasha’s Citadel, and the Museum of Egyptian Civilizations in Fustat. This aims to provide an interactive educational experience that combines entertainment and knowledge, contributing to broadening the students’ horizons and connecting them with the history and civilization of their country.


5- Visit to the Filming Locations of Several Ramadan Series
A number of college students visited the filming locations of several Ramadan series under the supervision of Dr. Emad Rabie, lecturer in the Department of Audio-Visual Production, who teaches the Creativity and Innovation course to first-year students. Dr. Emad Rabie provided the students with a unique opportunity to watch the filming of the final scenes of these series live on set, giving them a practical experience and a deeper understanding of the television production process. The students also attended the filming of the series “Fakhr Al-Delta” and “Kan Ya Ma Kan”.

As part of the Media College’s social and humanitarian role, the Faculty of Media at the Egyptian Chinese University organized a visit to 57357 Hospital to offer support for children and share memorable and joyful moments with them. This visit was not just an activity, but a true humanitarian message that affirms the impactful role played by different means of media — confirming that media is not limited to words, but also encompasses meaningful actions.
We are proud of the college’s students and their positive spirit, as we believe that our role as Faculty members extends to broader societal change, alongside our academic roles. Seminar Titled “Environment and Sustainable Development”
As part of the necessity of focusing on environmental and sustainability issues, the Faculty of Media and Literary Studies at the Egyptian Chinese University organized a distinguished seminar under the title of “Environment and Sustainable Development.”
The seminar was delivered by Professor of Environmental Engineering and Climate Science Consultant, Dr. Shaden Diab, where she discussed the most crucial environmental challenges alongside the various possible ways of achieving sustainable development in a simple and inspiring scientific manner. 2- Welcome Ceremony for New Students at the Faculty of Mass Communication
The Faculty of Mass Communication organized a welcoming ceremony for its new students for the new academic year, in an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and a sense of belonging, reflecting the spirit of welcoming students and the start of a promising academic year.
The ceremony was organized as part of the Faculty’s commitment to strengthening communication between students and faculty members, and to familiarizing new students with the study system and various academic and student activities.
During the event, the Faculty administration welcomed the new students, wishing them a university journey filled with success, creativity, and excellence, and expressing its confidence that they will be a valuable addition to the Faculty’s mission of preparing media professionals capable of competing in the job market. The ceremony was also attended by artist Mohamed Gomaa, artist Mohamed Khamis, and media professional Dr. Mohamed Al-Rumaihi, a presenter on Extra News Channel, who shared in the students’ joy at the beginning of the new academic year, emphasizing the importance of combining academic study with practical experience in the field of media.

The students participated in the “Stand With Us” seminar, which was held under the slogan “Enlightened Awareness for Sustainable Victory,” and was organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports with the aim of raising awareness among university students, in implementation of the directives of Mr. President of the Republic regarding the importance of confronting rumors and their impact on national security. 1- A Workshop Entitled “Journalistic Work Duties”
The Faculty of Mass Communication at the Egyptian-Chinese University hosted Dr. Mohamed El-Baz, Chairman of the Board and Editor-in-Chief of Al-Dostour newspaper and presenter of the radio program “Mesh Hesbet Berma” on Nogoum FM, as part of the “Introduction to Journalism and Digital Publishing” course. During the meeting, Dr. El-Baz reviewed his rich media career, which included presenting distinguished programs such as “Akher El-Nahar,” “Bab Allah,” and “90 Minutes,” in addition to his academic experience as a professor at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University. He discussed the fundamentals of journalistic work and mechanisms for developing professional performance to keep pace with the developments in digital media.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Sarah El-Maghraby, Acting Dean of the Faculty, emphasized the Faculty of Mass Communication’s commitment to linking academic study with practical application and developing its students’ field skills. She praised Dr. El-Baz’s participation and his contribution to enriching the students’ experiences. She also honored him in recognition of his media career and his outstanding contributions to supporting the educational process.

2- A Workshop Entitled “The Advertising Industry in Egypt and the Arab World”
The Faculty of Mass Communication at the Egyptian-Chinese University hosted advertising expert and academic Dr. Galal Zaki as part of the “Introduction to Advertising and Digital Marketing” course. The aim was to develop students’ skills and bridge the gap between academic study and practical application. During the meeting, Dr. Zaki discussed the evolution of the advertising industry in Egypt and the Arab world, highlighting the challenges of digital transformation and emphasizing the importance of integrating creative thinking with modern technologies in advertising.
Associate Professor Dr. Sarah El-Maghraby, Dean of the Faculty, affirmed that the meeting was part of the Faculty’s plan to host experts and specialists to support students’ practical training. 3- A Workshop Entitled “Television News Presentation”
The faculty organized a workshop entitled “Television News Presentation”, hosting journalist Dalia Abu Emera, a news anchor on Cairo News Channel. This workshop was part of a program to train second-year students on news broadcasting and television presentation skills.
During the workshop, Ms. Abu Emera reviewed the essential qualities of a successful broadcaster and provided practical training for students on delivery skills, pronunciation, and on-camera interaction. Dr. Sarah El-Maghraby, Acting Dean of the Faculty, emphasized that the workshop is part of the Faculty’s plan to prepare and qualify students for the media job market. 4- First Scientific Seminar at the Faculty of Mass Communication: “Modern Trends in Media Research”
In its commitment to supporting and developing the skills of its Faculty and staff, and enhancing their research capabilities to achieve academic excellence and improve the quality of academic theses, the Faculty organized its first scientific seminar entitled “Modern Trends in Media Research”.
The seminar was presented by Dr. Mona El-Sawah, Professor of Digital Media Governance and Director of the Digital Majority Research Centre at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom. Dr. El-Sawah holds several prestigious academic positions, most notably: Professor of Political Communication at the University of Oxford, Co-Chair of the Global Majority Research Committee (GMRC), Research Associate at the Oxford Internet Institute, and a member of the Carr Center at Harvard University. The organization of this seminar reflects the Faculty’s ongoing efforts to foster international academic collaboration and keep up with the latest research trends in the fields of media and communication studies.

5- A Workshop on “Program Specification”
The Faculty of Mass Communication organized a workshop entitled “Program Specification” presented by Dr. Mostafa Abd El-Khaleq, a quality expert at the university. This workshop was part of collaborative efforts to enhance the quality of academic programs and learning outcomes.
Held online with faculty participation, the workshop aimed to introduce participants to the concept of program specification and its importance in ensuring quality and process integrity, in addition to discussing the mechanisms of preparing and updating course specifications according to the approved academic standards.
The workshop was well-received by attendees, who appreciated the valuable information and practical examples it provided for improving the faculty’s performance and academic programs.
6- A Workshop Entitled “The Art of Dubbing”
On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the Faculty of Mass Communication hosted media personality Asmaa Samir as part of the “Introduction to Audio-Visual Production” course. The workshop aimed to train students on dubbing and voice-over skills, enhancing their on-air performance abilities.
Asmaa Samir is a distinguished media professional, currently a presenter on the Egyptian Radio’s cultural program and a director at Disney Channel. She possesses extensive experience in both radio and television broadcasting.
This event reflects the faculty’s commitment to developing its students’ practical skills and preparing them for the job market through hands-on training and interaction with media experts.

1- Awareness Day: Quality Culture and Study Paths
The Faculty of Media at the Egyptian Chinese University organized an awareness day for first- and second-year students, under the patronage of the Acting Dean of the Faculty, Assistant Professor Dr. Sara Al-Maghraby, aiming to raise academic and professional awareness among students and introduce them to their study paths within the faculty. The activities began with a lecture by Dr. Zainab Qutb – lecturer in the Department of Integrated Marketing Communications – about the University Student Charter, during which she discussed how students can develop themselves, respect campus rules, and understand their rights and duties. The lecture included an open discussion with students about communication channels and support mechanisms within the faculty.
Then, Dr. Ahmed Ghobashy, Professor of Modern and Contemporary History, gave an extensive presentation on the culture of quality and objective evaluation, during which he addressed the role of the Quality Assurance Unit, as well as the vision and mission of the faculty. The day concluded with introductory presentations about the tracks and programs of the faculty’s three departments, delivered by several members of the supporting staff in the three departments:
🔸 Department of Digital Journalism and Graphic Design – included an overview of television journalism tracks and graphic design writing skills.
🔸 Department of Integrated Marketing Communications – covered digital marketing and brand building.

1- Workshop Titled “Academic Quality Standards”
Within the directives of the President of the Egyptian Chinese University, Prof. Dr. Rasha El-Khouly, to develop the capabilities of faculty members and the supporting staff, the Faculty of Mass Communication organized a workshop on academic quality standards, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Sara El-Maghraby, Dean of the Faculty, emphasizing the importance of commitment to the quality of education.
The workshop was presented by Prof. Dr. Mostafa Abdelkhaleq, supervisor of the Quality Assurance Center at the university, where he reviewed the latest standards and approved methods for applying quality systems in university education, stressing their role in achieving continuous development and advancing the educational process. He also addressed the most prominent modern quality methods followed in higher education institutions, explaining the mechanisms for their application within the faculty with the aim of enhancing academic excellence. The event witnessed active participation from faculty members and supporting staff, who provided rich discussions on ways to improve academic performance.

2- Workshop Titled “The Art of Press Cartooning”
As part of developing the skills of the students of the Faculty of Media at the Egypt-China University, cartoonist Hani Shams presented a workshop titled “The Evolution of Cartoon Art Between Print Newspapers and Digital Platforms.” The workshop addressed the history of cartoons and their transformations after the 1952 revolution, as well as their role in social and political criticism. Shams showcased examples of works by prominent cartoonists and explained the standards of journalistic cartoons. He also reviewed the latest digital technologies and artificial intelligence in cartoon production, providing students the opportunity to display their works.
The workshop was held under the patronage of Associate Professor Dr. Sara Al-Maghrabi, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Media, and supervised by Associate Professor Dr. Mai Mahmoud, Head of the Department of Digital Journalism and Graphic Design at the faculty. At the conclusion of the workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Sara Al-Maghrabi honored artist Hani Shams by presenting the faculty shield.

1- Visit of First-Year Students to Akhbar Al-Youm Institution
The Faculty of Media at the Egyptian Chinese University organized a field visit for first-year students to the Akhbar Al-Youm Institution, aiming to provide them with practical experience about the journalistic work environment and the content production process. The program began inside the Ahmed Ragab Hall with an introductory speech about the institution’s history and its role in the Egyptian journalism industry. Then, the students toured the institution’s library and photo archive, followed by a visit to the news hall and the portal to directly observe the stages of editing and digital preparation.
The visit also included an extensive tour inside the Akhbar Al-Youm printing presses in 6th of October City, where the students watched the various printing stages starting from plate preparation and machine operation to the final output of the newspaper. Additionally, they learned about commercial printing lines. The students expressed their great benefit from the visit, affirming that it contributed to enhancing their practical skills and linking the academic content they receive with real-world application inside one of the most prestigious journalistic institutions in Egypt.

2- Visit of Media College Students to the Grand Egyptian Museum
The students of the Media College visited the Grand Egyptian Museum, where they toured its halls and learned about the most prominent artifacts that embody Egypt’s history and ancient civilization. This visit aims to enhance the students’ cultural awareness and connect academic aspects with field experiences, in addition to developing their skills in media coverage by professionally observing and documenting the visit’s activities.

3- Visit of Media College Students to the Arms Exhibition
The students of the Media College visited the arms exhibition, where they learned about the latest military technologies and equipment. The visit was part of enhancing the awareness and knowledge of the students. The arms exhibition is considered one of the most important international events held in Egypt with the participation of a large number of countries, where the latest military equipment and technologies are displayed. The exhibition aims to exchange expertise and learn about global developments in the fields of armament and defense.

4- Seminar on “Analyzing the Political Scene”
The Faculty of Media at the Egyptian Chinese University hosted, under the patronage of Professor Dr. Rasha El-Khouly, the University President, and Professor Dr. Sara El-Maghraby, the Dean of the Faculty, the prominent journalist Dr. Rifaat Fayyad, Editor-in-Chief of Akhbar Al-Youm newspaper and specialist in educational affairs, in an extensive seminar that addressed the analysis of the political scene and the role of media in interpreting internal and external situations.
The seminar began with a welcoming speech from the Dean of the Faculty, followed by a presentation by Dr. Rifaat Fayyad, during which he emphasized the importance of the media’s role in serving society and the necessity of relying on credible sources in conveying information. He also provided an explanation of the fundamentals of news production and the mechanisms for analyzing the political scene. At the conclusion of the event, the Dean of the Faculty honored the guest and presented him with the university shield in appreciation of his participation, and commemorative photos were taken with the students to document this distinguished student activity.


5- Field Visit to Mohamed Naguib Military Base
The Ministry of Youth and Sports, in cooperation with the Popular and Military Defense Forces, organized a field visit for students of the Egyptian Chinese University to the Mohamed Naguib Military Base in El Hamam city, Marsa Matrouh Governorate, as part of university activity programs aimed at enhancing belonging and pride in national identity. The visit included 50 male and female students from various university faculties.
The activities included a presentation during which the students learned about the establishment of the base, its facilities, and the training and shooting fields. The students also toured the various facilities, which include a multipurpose conference hall, a theater equipped with the latest technologies, a museum dedicated to the late President Mohamed Naguib, in addition to the sports village that includes indoor halls, the Olympic stadium, and several diverse playgrounds. The students inspected the sports center and tactical training fields, and the visit concluded with a tour of the shooting ranges.
At the end of the visit, the students expressed their appreciation for the role of the armed forces and their pride in what they witnessed of readiness and organization, affirming their desire to repeat such activities that enhance the spirit of belonging and national awareness.


6- Seminar on the Role of the Grand Egyptian Museum in Consolidating National Identity
The Faculty of Media at the Egyptian Chinese University, in cooperation with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and under the patronage of Dr. Rasha El-Khouly, President of the University, Dr. Haitham Amer, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and Dr. Sara El-Maghraby, Dean of the Faculty of Media, organized a seminar entitled “The Role of the Grand Egyptian Museum in Consolidating National Identity and Preserving Civilizational Heritage.”
The seminar was opened with a speech by Dr. Haitham Amer, in which he emphasized the importance of raising awareness about Egyptian heritage, followed by a speech by Dr. Sara El-Maghraby, who praised the cooperation between the two faculties and the role of media in enhancing identity. Dr. Ahmed Ghobashi, Professor of Modern and Contemporary History, delivered an important lecture on the historical development of archaeological discoveries in Egypt and the importance of the museum in preserving heritage and highlighting Egypt’s civilizational depth. Tour guide Amina El-Minyawi presented a documentary presentation about the Grand Egyptian Museum and the role of media in supporting national belonging. 1- Victory of the Egyptian Chinese University Handball Team in the Egyptian Universities and Institutes Championship
The Egyptian Chinese University handball team (female students) achieved an honorable accomplishment by winning first place and the gold medal in the Egyptian Universities and Institutes Championship as part of the 53rd Martyr Al-Rifai Tournament, officially advancing to Level A and continuing its distinguished journey in university competitions.

2- Participation of Student Saif Tamer Omar in the Cairo Football Championship
As part of the university’s support for student activities and encouraging students to represent it in various sports championships, student Youssef Ihab Omar participated in the Cairo Football Championship.

1- First-Year Students’ Visit to Akhbar El-Yom Foundation
The Faculty of Media organized a field visit for first-year students to Akhbar El-Yom’s Foundation, such a visit reflects the faculty’s commitment towards linking theoretical knowledge with practical experience. During this visit, students gained insightful knowledge concerning the formation’s process of a news story—from its discovery as an idea to its final composition.
The visit began with an introductory talk related to the history of Akhbar El-Yom’s Foundation, taking place in the hall of “Great Writer Ahmed Ragab”, where students explored the foundation’s origins and its pioneering role in Egyptian journalism. The tour also included a visit to the foundation’s library as well as its photo archive, followed by a visit to the news hall and the online portal to observe the stages of journalistic editing and digital preparation up close.
The visit concluded with a tour of Akhbar El-Yom’s printing presses located in 6th of October City, where students observed the various printing stages—from plate preparation and machine operation to the newspaper’s final composition—as well as the commercial printing processes. Students expressed their appreciation for taking part in such an outstanding field experience, which enriched their practical understanding and helped them connect their academic study with the professional reality at one of Egypt’s most prestigious journalistic institutions.


2- First-Year Students’ Visit to Media Production City
As part of the Faculty of Media’s efforts to enhance practical learning for students, the faculty organized a field visit to Media Production City during December. The visit included a tour of several studios belonging to satellite channels, including Cairo News Channel, Sada El-Balad Channel, and Al-Nahar Channel.
During the tour, students got in touch with the operational processes inside the television studios alongside the numerous stages of preparing programs and news bulletins—from planning and preparation, to filming and directing, reaching live broadcasting. They also had the opportunity to observe the technical and production equipment used in media work, broadening their understanding via the connection between their theoretical studies and practical application across the professional media environment.


3- Workshop for College Students at the UPSkill Center in Media Production City
As part of the Faculty of Media’s activities towards the development of its students’ practical skills, a field visit was organized to the Training and Development Center at Media Production City (Upskill), which is considered one of the specialized centers for qualifying media professionals and enhancing their professional career skills.
During the visit, students participated in a practical “Mobile Journalism” workshop, where they learned the different techniques of producing comprehensive media content depending on their mobile phones—from filming to editing, reaching the final stage of publishing. The workshop also highlighted the importance of this type of journalism in meeting the demands of the digital age, its role in reducing production costs, and its contribution to improving the quality of media content delivered to audiences via smartphones.
By the end of the visit, Dean of the Faculty of Media, Associate Professor Dr. Sara Al-Maghrabi, presented a plaque of appreciation to the Director of the UPSKILL Training Center, Dr. Amani Farouk, honoring her for her efforts and contributions in facilitating such an outstanding field visit for the students.

4- Second-Year Students’ Display of Their Wall Magazines
As part of the practical activities taking place at the Faculty of Media, second-year students displayed their wall magazines on the faculty’s wall. This activity is part of the Digital Journalism and Graphic Design course requirements, under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr. Mai Mahmoud and Teaching Assistant Nouran Ashraf.
This activity was a reflection of a high level of creativity and innovation, where students successfully transformed their ideas into vibrant visual works which mixed journalistic content with graphic design in a professional way. This activity contributed to developing students’ creative skills and enhancing their ability to express themselves visually, while supporting the practical aspects of their academic studies.

Research Activities
Launching the Multidisciplinary Research Projects Bank
Within the directives of Professor Dr. Rasha El-Khouly, President of the Egyptian Chinese University, a committee was formed to evaluate the outcomes of the training program on designing and writing local and international research projects, organized by the University’s Research and Innovation Center. During the committee’s work, Dr. Rasha El-Khouly praised the level of the research ideas presented, which reflect the researchers’ awareness of the importance of innovation and digital transformation, alongside enhancing integration among various disciplines.
She also announced the launch of a multidisciplinary research project bank, which includes 17 research projects in the fields of medicine, community service, artificial intelligence, and sustainability. This step comes within the university’s strategy to support applied scientific research and contribute to achieving the targets of Egypt Vision 2030. The Faculty of Mass Communication presented the idea of establishing a unit with a special character.

1- Workshop at the National Council for Women
A training workshop held at the National Council for Women witnessed a remarkable attendance of students from the Faculty of Media at the Egypt China University. The students participated in monitoring and analyzing the media portrayal of women in Ramadan series by preparing critical reports on episodes of the series “The Other Text,” as part of a practical experience that combined media analysis with professional application. This participation represents a new step towards deeper media awareness and the creation of more responsible and impactful content.

2- Training Workshop for College Students at the United Media Academy
The video production workshop for digital platforms for the students of the Faculty of Media at the Egypt-China University was launched at the United Media Academy, aiming to develop their skills in digital storytelling from the idea stage to publication. The workshop lasted for five days, with its activities starting and concluding within the academy’s premises, while part of its activities was carried out mid-way through the workshop days inside the Faculty of Mass Communication at the Egypt-China University, as part of a practical training experience combining theoretical learning and practical application.

3- Quran Memorization Competition
Under the patronage of the leadership of the Egyptian Chinese University, the Activities Committees of the Faculties of Media and Literary Studies organized a competition in memorizing the Holy Quran. This was at two levels: memorizing the first 10 parts or memorizing the last 10 parts.

4- Cultural Trip to Historical Landmarks in Cairo
As part of the role of student activities in developing cultural awareness and enhancing national belonging among students, the university’s Youth Welfare Department, in cooperation with the Tourism Promotion Authority, organized a recreational cultural trip to the Pyramids area, Muhammad Ali Pasha’s Citadel, and the Museum of Egyptian Civilizations in Fustat. This aims to provide an interactive educational experience that combines entertainment and knowledge, contributing to broadening the students’ horizons and connecting them with the history and civilization of their country.


5- Visit to the Filming Locations of Several Ramadan Series
A number of college students visited the filming locations of several Ramadan series under the supervision of Dr. Emad Rabie, lecturer in the Department of Audio-Visual Production, who teaches the Creativity and Innovation course to first-year students. Dr. Emad Rabie provided the students with a unique opportunity to watch the filming of the final scenes of these series live on set, giving them a practical experience and a deeper understanding of the television production process. The students also attended the filming of the series “Fakhr Al-Delta” and “Kan Ya Ma Kan”.

In a distinguishing Ramadan atmosphere, university students and faculty members gathered for a group Iftar that reflected a spirit of cooperation and closeness. Such moments were simple, yet they carried great meanings of happiness and belonging. Ramadan isn’t just limited to fasting; it extends to a kind of sharing and communication — a month that brings hearts together in a beautiful and unforgettable gathering.

2- Media College Students’ Visit to 57357 Hospital
As part of the Media College’s social and humanitarian role, the Faculty of Media at the Egyptian Chinese University organized a visit to 57357 Hospital to offer support for children and share memorable and joyful moments with them. This visit was not just an activity, but a true humanitarian message that affirms the impactful role played by different means of media — confirming that media is not limited to words, but also encompasses meaningful actions.
We are proud of the college’s students and their positive spirit, as we believe that our role as Faculty members extends to broader societal change, alongside our academic roles. The visit was conducted under the supervision and coordination of Lecturer of Public Relations and Advertising, Dr. Zeinab Kotb, as part of community engagement activities.


Environmental Awareness
Seminar Titled “Environment and Sustainable Development”
As part of the necessity of focusing on environmental and sustainability issues, the Faculty of Media and Literary Studies at the Egyptian Chinese University organized a distinguished seminar under the title of “Environment and Sustainable Development.”
The seminar was delivered by Professor of Environmental Engineering and Climate Science Consultant, Dr. Shaden Diab, where she discussed the most crucial environmental challenges alongside the various possible ways of achieving sustainable development in a simple and inspiring scientific manner. It was an insightful and fruitful seminar which opened new horizons for students towards genuine environmental awareness and an active role in building a better future.
