Artificial Intelligence and the Sustainable Development Goals

The Faculty of Computers and Information Systems at the Egyptian Chinese University (ECU) organized a workshop titled: The Role of Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, presented by Dr. Doaa Mohy El Din, a faculty member at the college. The workshop addressed how to employ artificial intelligence technologies to serve sustainable development issues and achieve a smarter and more sustainable future.

Coinciding with the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, and as part of enhancing Egypt’s cultural identity globally, the Faculty of Computers and Information Systems announces a workshop entitled: “Artificial Intelligence in the Development of the Grand Egyptian Museum: Where the Ancient Past Meets the Smart Future.”

The use of deep learning in documenting and restoring artifacts
Big Data for understanding visitor behavior and improving the visit experience.

2. Applications of artificial intelligence in the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM): Intelligent systems for artifact recognition and patterns of deterioration and decay. Smart interactive maps that guide visitors using Indoor Navigation technologies. Virtual reality and metaverse experiences to bring Egyptian civilization to life. Digital archiving systems for safely and sustainably preserving archaeological data.

3. How is artificial intelligence changing the future of museums in Egypt? It also highlights the role of sustainable development in using digital technology and artificial intelligence to promote Smart Tourism. Developing interactive educational programs for students and researchers. Transforming museums into international platforms for scientific research in data science and artificial intelligence.
