In alignment with its social responsibility and pioneering role in community development, the Egyptian Chinese University participated in the “Ahl El-Dakahlia” convoy, which was directed to serve the residents of Hala Village, Mit Ghamr District, Dakahlia Governorate, on Tuesday, 22 October 2024. The initiative was held under the patronage of Dr. Karima Abdel Karim, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Egyptian Chinese University, and Prof. Rasha El-Khouly, President of the University, with the participation of faculty members from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and students from the Faculties of Pharmacy and Drug Technology, Physical Therapy, and Veterinary Medicine.

Students of the Faculty of Physical Therapy, under the supervision of Prof. Samy Nassef, Dean of the Faculty, provided physical therapy sessions and medical awareness services, in addition to diagnostic support, manual therapy, acupuncture-based treatment, and nutritional therapy services. The team also raised awareness among residents regarding the importance of early diagnosis and appropriate management of various health conditions, while discussing healthy approaches to dealing with musculoskeletal pain. They provided consultations on exercises and postural correction techniques aimed at pain relief and prevention, and applied manual therapy techniques, including massage and movement therapy, for the treatment of back pain. Acupuncture techniques were also used to manage muscle spasms, in addition to offering nutritional consultations and individualized diet plans tailored to different needs.

Students of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Drug Technology, under the supervision of Prof. Mina Tadros, Dean of the Faculty, conducted awareness activities on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), educating the community about the appropriate use of antibiotics, correcting common misconceptions and inappropriate practices—such as discontinuing antibiotic courses prematurely or using antibiotics without medical supervision—through educational leaflets and outreach materials.

In addition, students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine participated in the veterinary convoy, conducting examinations and clinical assessments for a number of animals, including cattle, horses, and poultry, diagnosing various medical conditions. The convoy activities were coordinated by Prof. Eman Ahmed Abu El-Fadl, Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
