1.Program Mission:

The mission of the Construction and Building Engineering program is to prepare graduates who specialize in Construction engineering and management of construction projects, who are able to compete in Egyptian as well as in regional and international labor markets, by virtue of their acquired knowledge, skills, professionalism and ethics.
Thus, the program mission could be defined as:
PM1. Equip students with a systematic knowledge and understanding of mathematics and engineering science relevant to structural, construction and environmental engineering.
PM2. Provide student with detailed knowledge and understanding of scientific principles relevant to construction and management of the construction projects .
PM3. Develop the analytical and practical skills appropriate for designing an integrated structures that meets its design requirements, environment needs and sustainability.
PM4. Provide students with skills required to measure construction processes states to be able to assess project’s performance and decide appropriate corrective control actions to be taken.
PM5. Produce graduates that manage their learning and undertake continuing professional development.

2.Program Aims

The main aims of the ” Construction and Building Engineering” program are to study and research in civil engineering multi-disciplines with the proper scientific knowledge and develop his/her skills to:
PA 1. The Construction and Building Engineering program aims to graduate future engineers who can apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering concepts to the solution of engineering problems.
PA 2. The Construction and Building Engineering program aims to graduate future engineers who can design structural elements and structural system to meet the required needs within realistic constraints.
PA 3. The Construction and Building Engineering program aims to graduate future engineers who can design and conduct experiments as well as analyze and interpret their data.
PA 4. The Construction and Building Engineering program aims to graduate future engineers who can identify, formulate and solve fundamental engineering problems.
PA 5. The Construction and Building Engineering program aims to graduate future engineers who can use the techniques, skills, and appropriate engineering tools, necessary for engineering practice and project management.

3. Graduate Attributes

According to the National Academic Reference Standard (NARS2018), the graduates of the Construction and Building Engineering Program at Egyptian Chinese University can work professionally compete in Egyptian as well as in regional and international labor markets of the construction engineering industry with the following skills:
GA 1- Identify and classify the performance of construction projects using analytical methods and modelling techniques.
GA 2- Design effective structural systems using systems approach to meet a given specification and requirements.
GA 3- Integrate a wide range of analytical tools, techniques, equipment, and software packages to design and construct optimized and sustainable structures.
GA 4- Exercise creative approaches to the analysis and solution of problems in Construction Engineering.
GA5- Identify occupational hazards in all work sites whether offices, factories or construction sites and design mitigation measures for them.
GA6- Apply cost/effectiveness measures to improve design and implementation costs.
GA7- Manage design and implementation processes in familiar and unfamiliar contexts.

GA8- Use digital tools and media to deal with academic/professional challenges in a critical and innovative way.
GA9- Work or study independently under general rules and regulations, taking full responsibility for self-learning and self-development by utilizing published literature in civil engineering and attending training provided by professional bodies.
GA10- Make good decisions at appropriate times.
GA11- Take responsibility for the performance of the team and their management.
GA12- Evaluate the performance of subordinates and support their development.
GA13- Use resources efficiently and develop the workplace.
GA14- Respect work ethics while practicing civil engineering work.
