Pharmacognosy is one of the oldest branches of pharmaceutical sciences which is concerned with the study of the physical, chemical, biochemical, and biological properties of natural drugs.

The department courses enable the students to target the identification and characterization of herbal medicinal products from natural sources, the development and standardization of novel herbal formulations, cosmetics and nutraceuticals as well as the sustainable production of natural products via biotechnological approaches.
