The Egyptian Chinese University (ECU) provides a comprehensive library and information service to students using the most effective media for the acquisition and dissemination of information. The Library has a wide range collection of texts and references which are accessible via the latest library databases.
The Library provides training and guidance to enable students to gain the greatest benefit from its collection of print, e-resources and online Journals. There is also an exclusive access to the Egyptian Knowledge Bank for all the students.
The Library role in student’s life is to support the academic and research needs of the ECU community by facilitating the transformation of information to knowledge through personalized services and a robust online environment in the near future. In doing so, the library plays an active and fundamental part of the University’s pursuit of distinction in all academic and scholarly programs.
Library services include research instruction and offer assistance to ECU students who learn to use the venue as freshmen in the essentials of how to do research, locate and critically evaluate information using library resources. Additional instruction is offered in all disciplines to undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff and eligible external users. ECU librarians are there to help in all methods needed in support of the academic strive for our students.
ECU plans to acquire a digital library with international journals for all academic programs and special interests. The Library provides off-campus access to all electronic resources and the catalogue to support independent study via the Library Website. Construction of a new, purpose-built state of the art library has commenced and is due to open in 2017/8 while we host a decimal system library for the time being.
